Rainy Sheung Sze Wan Sunday - love this misty wet weather completely

The village looking back from the post-box.

The village post-box.  Love its jaunty little friend.

Evan

Wounds of the Keeper

Evan's always in the wars in some way - roasties and bumps of one sort or another.

The Keeper

Heading off after a winning game before we left - perfect weather for football and ducks.

Pretoria

Such a super-cool evening with you.  So happy seeing Steve and Jacks too.  Pic by Ev

Aiden the next morning - always a delight getting him moving :-)

Lovely Sue - such an effortlessly divine human, married to another.

Before Easter 2019 - out on The Shrimp - through the narrows

It's was a rainy and overcast for much of the time leading up to our April trip.  We had some lovely weekends despite.  One day included a trip on the Shrimp to Yau Lei, passing through the narrows next a village that's name I don't know.  They had a bamboo and tin opera hall set up.  Very festive, and structures that I love - temporary but substantial - and chaotically beautiful.

Jordan back in town after a long absence.  Reunited with Courtney

Lara and Jordan - being blown around in the wind.

Seeing you

The greatest delight - thanks so much for a super-cool day.  You're constantly on our minds - sometimes the world seems full of you.

Near Plett

Riding the reserve

I had serious doubts about this, I think a sentiment shared by Pete.  Simon insisted it was all good.  Certainly there was some added frisson.  I thought the signs were wholly unambiguous.  In the end it was great - saw some cool animals - giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, nyala, impala and a zebra, dead in a waterhole...

Simon and Pete pushing up the hill from the river.

Kenton for the Easter weekend

Kenton is alarmingly beautiful in any weather - on the Bushman's river.

Also on the Bushmans - with Evan heading back from fishing and cruise.

Jordan and Mika - fun-nitrous - lovely.

On the Kariega river, early morning with Simon.
Mika and Jordan on the Kariega river at sunset.

We also had some sparkling weather - and a spring low tide - lugging mussels from the rocks back for cleaning.

The island and the lagoon

Evan and Aiden in action with the football in a moody Steenbok park on the island.

I acquired some wheels in the form of this bad-boy, managed to ride a min of 30kms a day on all but two of the days
- so nice to get some exercise (and pop some wheelies - been a while since being on a mountain bike).

Knysna and Rose

I've had a couple of woeful months on the blog - in no small part because I've been woeful collecting photos.  So here is a holiday catch-up - so so delightful to have seen you. The overwhelming surprise and joy was seeing GR looking and sounding so fantastic. Here's to her :-)
