Delightfully, it was a public holiday today. Low tide was a perfect 0.4m, which meant the sandbank in the bay was out, this time at sunset. And a beautiful beautiful evening it was. I took the camera and headed out to the bank with the boys, joined by a delighted Daisy on the way, for a quick pre-dinner slide. It was like an injection of great mood.

Bites of life
Ok, hands down Macy wins our super-cool prize of 2017-so-far, here below skydiving for the first time over Hawaii - curvature of the earth, and the islands below.
Last night Tottenham Hotspurs played Southern China champions Kitchee, and we went to the game. It was completely amazing. As in completely. Spurs won 4-1, the pace and power was electrifying. Then at the end I stood open mouthed as I saw some kid jump the barriers, side-stepping and ducking the speeding security people - and then I realised it was my kid! Quality parenting 101. Fortunately Harry Kane is the ultimate gentleman, and said hey sure, selfie, before he was hauled off. Mmmm
The beautiful sky
I know its
pretty tired, taking pictures out of a plane window – but the stuff you see
really is quite staggering – whether it be abstract forming colours, or the
simple scale and splendour of the earth.
I’m mindful of the people I know who’ve still never been in a plane – so
on some level it is just unforgivable to forget to look out of the window.

A weekend morning at last
We got going early-ish, roads were quiet - beach was busier than expected when we got there and the water was pretty ordinary - tepid, zero waves (as in not even a ripple) - but still, cool to have a sport-free day and to hit the sand. Thai food for lunch. Home for a lazy afternoon. Perfect.

Gastro beast
Definitely not the finest weekend here. Gastro attack hit us late midweek, and down we went like skittles. Below are Aiden and Evan on Saturday morning - when they would ordinarily be playing footaball - evidence of the egregiousness of the bug. By Sunday evening we were in a position to venture out, briefly, so went down to the slipway to catch up with the village crew. The wet figure eight in the bottom pic is the line that Daisy walked after sneaking into the sea for a quick dip. Courtney has just got back from Uni in Vancouver - so cool to see her - she's smiling because she doesn't have the bug. Hope all is fab with you - I'm on the road for the next three weeks, but back for one of the weekends which is great.
