Tintin and Thomson

Ev and Aiden had a character day at school today - and elected to go as Tintin and Thomson.  We put an impromptu light-box together using a remote flash in the dressing room and came up with this shot - I thought they looked very cool.

Sunday rugby tournament - HK Football Club

Aiden's Sai Kung Stingrays team was in top form this morning, winning all three of their games.
Their first game against Sandy Bay saw some decent sized opposition, Aiden goes in for contact.

Their game against Vally Fort was probably their best, Aiden had some good runs - he's really learned to put his head down and run at the opposition, runs straight too.  In this particular sequence the cover defence got him in the end, but he got his pass off and his mate scored.  I think what is most satisfying for me in all this is that they really play as a team, and there is a strong sense of camaraderie - much of which is down to their coach Matt (running behind the blondie in the picture above) - who has the best possible way of working with kids - he's just terrific, value adding, life changing in small ways (the ones that really can count).  I just love watching him play - beats a test match for me any day.

Later, on the drive again against Vally Fort...

And making his presence felt with an only just enough arm to be legal shoulder hit (in the finest tradition of  South African rugby).

After it's all over, dusty, sweaty, satisfied; next tournament Hong Kong Sevens

Back to the Yau Lei day

Chronologically a disaster this, but wanted to pop these up for you, missed doing so being overawed by the picture of Roy's yacht.  It was so lovely to have dinner with you, that moment of delight, seeing you, seeing your smiles and your wit, hearing about the start of your Uni adventure.

Rolling out in the morning, Sheung Sze Wan in the background left, all smiles and sunshine coming from Evans lovely gap toothed face.
On Roy's yacht "Manyana" with Simon and Greg

Beautiful Aiden, windblown and sand tired, back on the RIB, packing up to head home.

Friday night in Sheung Sze Wan

The village was rocking this Friday night, party in the square outside the village hall, flags, colour, cool misty night, warm feelings between people.

Late dinner, shared food, simple lovely thing that people do

Jordan, beautiful athletic, fresh out of a rugby tournament, glittering solo try I'm told (as tough as nails she is, insanely strong for her size), growing skywards; Simon, warmth and sunshine
